Payroll 2020 – changes to off payroll working
With news that the government plans to launch a review into the upcoming changes to IR35 off payroll working rules, Payroll experts Greame Walker and Brittney Bies at XCD (www.peoplexcd.com) examine what Payrollers need to know about the controversial reform in XCD’s latest video at www.peoplexcd.com/payroll-2020-changes-off-payroll-working-video/
On 7 January, Treasury’s Financial Secretary Jesse Norman admitted that concerns had been raised about the reforms and said that the review would consider whether further steps were required to ensure its smooth implementation.
With the change scheduled to come into force on 6 April, the responsibility for determining the status of contractors will shift from the individual to the private sector company enlisting their services. In the video XCD explains what Payrollers need to know, and how to prepare for the changes.
