Atradius promotes Hartery

Leading trade credit insurer Atradius (https://www.atradius) has promoted Ruby Hartery to the position of senior underwriter to head up its retail and services team located at its UK headquarters in Cardiff Bay.

After graduating with a first-class honours in 2017, Ruby joined Atradius as part of the credit insurer’s internship programme.

“The internship I undertook at Atradius six years ago gave me the opportunity to build a sound knowledge of the credit insurance industry and an understanding of the role of risk underwriter.  I quickly realised that Atradius was the company where I wanted to forge my career and I was thrilled to be appointed upon graduation and now to be promoted to senior underwriter,” says Hartery.

“Retail is a dynamic industry and where my passion lies so I’m deeply invested in managing this portfolio.  It’s been a difficult year for retail with new, changing risks which has meant we’ve had to be at the top of our game and adapt to evolving circumstances.  What makes Atradius stand out for customers is its established relationships with buyers, meaning we can work closely with them to understand their challenges and remain innovative in our approach to risk management, always ensuring we look after our customer’s best interests.”

Alongside Ruby’s promotion, Atradius has appointed finance graduate Lewis Clare to the role of underwriter supporting fellow retail and services underwriters Faye Jones and Elliot Clement.

“Initiatives such as Atradius’ underwriting internships and financial services graduate management scheme allow us to invest in the next generation of talent and nurture individuals throughout their career at Atradius,” comments Simon Rockett, Senior Underwriting for Atradius UK.  “After initially undertaking an internship, we’re pleased to see Ruby flourishing at Atradius and rewarded with promotion.”
